Potty Training

This is a big deal in every parents life, yes I did say parent because, think about it, do you remember being potty trained? However, your parents and other adults that spent time with you around d that age have plenty of funny stories to tell.

I for one have heard my mother tell of how she did it, and I know that I have already told two other parents how I got my first two trained. Now I have a third one in the process. At the same time I'm watching another two year old in the process. The difficult part for me is two fold I have one girl and one boy, plus I have only trained girls in the past.

Now a note for all you soon to be “potty trainers” every child has their price for giving up diapers. I have discovered the little boys price and it seems to be working. However my little girl has not given me any hints as to what would push her over into the panty world.

I have come across some parents that give rewards every time the potty is used. I'm one of these parents. For some kids the sticker chart is great with a tangible reward after so many stickers. Candy works to if you are not worried about the amount of sugar your child will be eating. One parent said their son loved Thomas the Train so they started giving him a new toy every time. They soon discovered it was too expensive. They then changed tactics and found something that could add up to a new toy. So let this be a warning for those soon to be “potty trainers” make sure the reward is cheap or you will break the bank getting them trained.
